Armin Grewe, that's me. Just posting things here. I live in Aldermaston Wharf and spend my holidays on the Isle of Islay.
Felt like another photo run today, so took the camera (the smaller one, not the big SLR) and stopped occasionally for the odd snap. The theme today was flowers and insects, mainly dragonflies. Hope you'll enjoy them.
After a long break since the demolition back in April and subsequent suspension of work when they discovered structural problems in the remaining structures it seems work on the new bridges is back on. At least some work was going on today:
At the A340 bridge they had built a track over the railway line and were transporting a generator to the southern side of the line. At the Station Road bridge they were ramming some kind of panels into the ground, I think where the foundations on the northern side of the railway line will be.

With quite a few of them showing off their aerial acrobatics above the canal in Aldermaston Wharf I had another go today at trying to catch one in flight. This picture is approaching something just about acceptable, I think I need quite a bit more practice.

Look closely and you'll notice the ice on the cars and boats. No ice on the canal just yet though.
